LPF HTML BIBLE HOME PAGE
The LPF HTML BIBLE from LikePreciousFaith.us is a simplified bible for web browsers.
Uses:
- It can be used stand alone with out an HTML server on most operating systems, just extract it into its own folder and from your file manager click on the HomePage.html to open it in your default browser
- It can be stored compltely on a flash drive and used on any computer without any further installation.
- It can also be downloaded to the SDCARD on most cell phones and opened up in a html viewer. (note: not all mobile OS's follow local file relative links - that's why the viewer instead of a browser.)
- You can also install an html server on your mobile or desktop device and share it over local wifi/ethernet, and with some additional DNS and firewall adjustments host it on a fullscale internet connection.
- You can drop it directly into your already existing web site and modify th pages and/or CSS to your hearts content.
The whole idea behind this project is to bring the bible down to the most common public denominator, which nowdays is HTML, minus any proprietary software/CGI/Java/JavaScript/database and scripting languages. This makes for a bible that is free and open and easily distributable. It is not intended to replace the other electronic Bibles out there, it is intended to be immediately usable and immediately shareable. Think of it not only in terms of how you might use it, but how you can share it with others in need of it (evangelism/missions/counseling)!
The LikePreciousFaith (LPF) HTML BIBLE is a spin off of our full scale pBiblx2 Field Wise Bible System. Our hope is to have our collection of some 130 public domain Bible translations in several languages converted to this format in the very near future, plus the most essential of our lexicons and dictionaries avaiable as well.
